A rare and elegant copper species miniature
This stunning miniature malachite specimen is a rare find from Peru. Copper minerals are not common in Peru, and malachite is even rarer. This specimen is from a small pocket of stalactite malachites that was found in a small, artisanal mine.
The malachite is a deep green color and has a velvety texture. It is an overgrowth or replacement of earlier chrysocolla, which can be seen on the backside of the specimen.
This miniature is one of the finest examples of malachite from Peru. It is rare, elegant, and well-preserved. It is a welcome addition to any mineral collection.
